Windsor Teams
A Word from the Chairman.
Having been a member of Windsor Hockey Club for at least the last twenty odd seasons, the sport life and social life of hockey has changed considerably. Long gone are the days of grass hockey all being played outside your club house as the social activities continue in the club house at the same time. The socialising starting at the end of a game and finishing when you rolled out of a pub or club at chucking out time. Most long established clubs have disappeared or merged in an attempt to survive.
Astro hockey now means we all play at different times at different venues etc., which means it has been harder to co-ordinate the club.
One thing that doesn't change is the friendships you make through playing. Windsor has always been a club that would play hard on the field and party hard off of it.
For Windsor HC to continue as a small local independent club, all of its current and future members have a duty to uphold the fine traditions if this club:
- Play to win;
- Play to the highest standard achievable as a club;
- Socialise as much as you can
More than ever Windsor Hockey Club needs to be true to itself! All of us must contribute on and off field for this club to become great and don't leave all the hard work to the few (as the few will in time become fewer).
